EARLY HELP OFFER
We understand that family life can sometimes seem challenging and there may be certain points where you need a little help, support or guidance. At Telford Park School we have an “Early Help” offer to support our children and their families as soon as a problem emerges, to ensure our students can thrive and be successful.
When families face problems, getting the right support, at the right time, is essential. “Early Help” is care provided at any stage of a child or young person’s life that aims to prevent escalating needs and improve children and young people’s outcomes.
Our Safeguarding Team and Pastoral Team can signpost you to different services and areas of support across many different areas; SEND, Mental Health, Medical, Finance, Housing, Parenting advice and much more.
Please get in touch with your child’s Head of Year to discuss further;
Year 7 : Miss A. Barton
Year 8 : Mr S. Webster
Year 9: Mrs S. Barton
Year 10: Miss J. Stratten
Year 11: Miss S. Pierce
Early Help Lead : Mrs J. Kerr
Please also note that Telford and Wrekin Family Hubs also offer advice and information that can help support Family Life. Our local Family Hub has a drop in service every Wednesday 9:30-12:30 at Southwater Library.
Early Help Assessments
As part of your discussions with our Pastoral Team or Safeguarding Team it may be suggested or advised that we complete an Early Help Assessment (EHA). An EHA is a really useful process to get an understanding of the whole family and help to identify what is working well for your family and identify any areas where you may need a little more support. This is a voluntary process and very much led by you as the parent / carer.
Following the initial Early Help Assessment meeting, we will then meet regularly with you, and any other organisations that may be supporting your child and your family; this could be different staff from within school, Strengthening Families Worker, School Nurse etc. We will meet every six weeks for “Support Plan Meetings” to discuss how things are going, what is working well for your family, where any support may need to be adjusted and any additional help that may be needed.
This is a fantastic, supportive process to give your child and your family a key professional and team of support that you can speak to at any point about concerns or issues you or your family are facing.
