In Key Stage 3 Religious Studies we cover the core concepts and beliefs of the six main religions. This is balanced against alternative views such as Humanism and Atheism. A topic based approach is used focusing on key topics for discussion. This allows students to express and develop their own belefs and values. The curriculum is designed to build upon the 2014 KS1 and 2 Agreed Syllabus adopted by our feeder primary schools. Activities are differenetiated by teaching staff to reflect different cultures prevailant in the local community and the wider world. RS at both sites is fully inclusive with no students currently opting to be withdrawn from RS. This reflects the all inclusive attitude adopted by the department in its approach to the teaching of RS. Students are encouraged to share their own beliefs and develop a culture of mutual respect within and outside of the classroom.
