Physical Education

Subject

PE.

Assessment:

Key Stage 3 students will be given steps levels according to their performance in each of the activities they perform in.  An average of these grades will determine their overall, end of year assessment level. The step criteria are taken from the GCSE PE practical assessment. This allows us to track students’ progress and suitability for KS4 PE courses.

Gifted & Talented

Each year we identify students that need that extra bit of challenge with PE and sport. We offer our G&T students days out of school to help develop their leadership skills with sport and then use them within school to help organise sporting fixtures and events.

Extra-curricular

Each term we offer an extensive extra-curricular program. Please see our current extra-curricular timetable.

Competitive Opportunities

We enter as many of the Telford and Wrekin School Sports Association sports competitions as possible. These include many of the sports that we teach and we encourage as many of our students to participate as possible.

Inter-house competitions

Each term we offer a “inter-house” event between the Telford CAT schools (Langley, Priory & Park). These range from cross country races, rugby, football, athletics and rounder’s.

Ski Trip

We currently run an annual ski trip. This year we are going to Europe. Students from years 7-11 are welcome to join us on next year’s trip running during February half term.
