We currently have 8READ1 in first place and if they maintain this they will be on track to achieve Master Class in March. They are closely followed by 7READ1 who are also on track to achieve Master Class in March if they also maintain their performance. 8READ2 are third and if they increased their engaged daily reading time to above 25 minutes per day they would have Master Class in their sights.
8READ4 with a 5 minute increase in their engaged daily reading time are also in the running for March.
Even if we cannot apply in March we can continue to apply throughout the academic year as the data is over a rolling 25 week period.
This is not related to reading groups, any group can achieve Master Class as they are all reading books within their own individual reading range (ZPD)..
Parents and Carers of Year 7 and 8 students, your child MUST have their Accelerated Reader book with them in school EVERY day.
Also the Year 7 and 8 students will be bringing home Accelerated Reader homework over the next 2 weeks that they will need to complete with you and you will need to sign and return to school.
We look forward to seeing the progress our students make over the coming months as we hurtle toward the earliest submission date for Master Class and Master School.
The good news is that the school is on track to achieve Master School and if we achieve that we will be a part of an elite group. Only eight schools out of 5500 achieved it last year
